Ready to Grill: Hamburger Buns for the Gluten-Free

Welcome to summer in Ohio!  I haven’t been blogging lately because I’ve been out gardening and eating.  We’ve grilled out several times now, and had friends over for hamburgers just the other night.  With all this grilling and sandwiching going on, what about the gluten-free?  I mean, its one thing to have to order the bun-less hamburger in a restaurant, but quite another in your own home.

The Gluten-Free Gourmet came to our rescue again with a description of how to make hamburger buns.  It is so simple I feel silly I didn’t think of it myself.  Take your favorite bread recipe, and pour it into foil molds in the shape of hamburger buns.  I hear English muffin molds would work well here too.  Let the bread rise and then bake for about 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

To make the mold, tear off a sheet of foil about 10-12 inches long.  Fold it in half, and then in half again.  Fold the bottom half up about 1/2 an inch and then link then ends together, forming a circle.
